I tend to find that most of the podcast apps on android are frustrating and/or limited in functionality. I downloaded Soundcloud and check to see if the podcasts I want to listen to have been uploaded there first.

I use PodKicker Pro, I like it a lot. The free version is great as well, rock-solid, just not as pretty as the paid version, and I think you can only get lockscreen controls in the paid app. Otherwise, I'd suggest either one.

Eager to hear your opinion of the M8. I have the old HTC One, I love it, and I'm looking to get the M8 soon.

Also, do you have the Beats or the Harmon-Kardon? I'm looking at the HK.

I upgraded from the m7 to m8. Battery life is better on the m8. Speakers are a little better. In-hand feel is better thanks to rounded edges, but it is larger overall. Duo camera is a fun gimmick. Camera is fantastic at low light but has the same limitations as the m7 (low res, no real image stabilization). Front camera is ever so slightly fisheyed so it makes taking selfies easier.

I'll probably be buying the new HTC phone next year. Owned 4 HTC phones and have had great experiences with them all.

Firstly, awesome phone! Beautiful fit and finish and the thing is just top notch overall.

And considering most of my phones are Apple (I have a few mid-range Androids and BBs laying around too) you know that definitely means something. lol

As my Android phones are usually my workhorses (Androids seemingly have better "tool" type apps) I don't have any real app suggestion other than the "Autoboy" dashcam.

But I can say this: DON'T BREAK THAT PHONE!!!

The HTC One series of phones are notorious for being nearly 100% unrepairable by the user. HTC gives you one free screen replacement within 6 months of purchase. After that, if you break that screen you're screwed. Replacing the screen involves a process that will most likely destroy or impair other parts of the phone.

just googled it, apparently the HK is just softwareside, the speakers themselves don't change.

After the 6 month period, if you break your screen they tell you to buy a new phone. Or at least, that has been my friend's experience.

I regularly fix phones from different brands (the iPhone 4/5/6 are by far the easiest) and I still refuse to work on the Aluminum unibody HTC Ones. If you can get inside without damaging the unibody, you'll likely break something else reaching the part you want to fix.

It's an awesome phone, just that HTC sacrificed serviceability (either intentionally or otherwise) to make it so awesome.
